Friends of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit group founded in 2008 and dedicated to the health and well-being of county shelter animals, named Jennifer McDonald and Donna Connor as the new president and vice-president of this volunteer organization. Both women care deeply about the county shelter animals, have experience as shelter volunteers, and are local small business owners.
The outgoing president/founder of Friends, Sandra D’Ambro remarked, “McDonald and Connor will bring new energy, fresh ideas, and innovative perspectives for fundraising and shelter volunteer activities. They will do what is necessary to make the shelter animals healthy and adoptable. This may mean underwriting costly medical care for a shelter animal.”
To ensure continuity, D’Ambro and other founding members have agreed to remain active in Friends throughout this period of transition. By combining the experience of the organization’s original members with the fresh new outlook and skills McDonald and Connor bring to the organization, the shelter animals will continue to get the help and support they need from Friends until they find their forever homes.
