Friends of Phoebie is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization devoted to giving local homeless dogs and cats a second chance. We retrieve stray, abandoned, neglected, and oftentimes abused animals from unsavory home environments, local medical facilities, kill shelters, and surrendering owners and we devote our time and resources to providing them with veterinary care, obedience training, and psychological and behavioral rehabilitation in an effort to eventually find permanent, loving homes for them.
Some of our foster animals come to our facility with tongues out and tails wagging, happy and grateful to have a roof over their heads and food in their bellies, and ready to be placed in their forever homes. Others, however, require months or even years of our patience and love before they are able to regain their trust in the kindness of humans. Regardless, we pledge to give these animals all the care, comfort, and security that they need because they deserve it.
Our Story: Phoebie was a sweet, little Italian Greyhound who died when a truck driver went out of his way to hit her. Since that day, we made it our promise to care for and protect animals who cannot care for or protect themselves.
